The WAND research group has updated its Internet trace header archive
at:
http://wand.cs.waikato.ac.nz/wand/wits/auck/4/
with a set of graphs studying artefacts in the Auckland-IV trace data
set. Displayed are the number of IP fragments, truncated IP headers,
packets with bad TCP flags, bad IP checksums, extended TCP flags,
malformed headers and packets with the same source and destination IP
address.
The analysis and graphs are the result of research work by undergraduate
student Jeremy Stringer at the University of Waikato Computer Science
department, under supervision of Nevil Brownlee at the University of
Auckland and CAIDA, with support by a number of researchers of the WAND
group.
We continue to enhance the user interface of the illustrated archive.
In particular, we will introduce more information about the rules which
were used to determine the artefacts displayed. We will provide similiar
graphs for the Auckland-II and NZIX-II data sets shortly. Another
enhancement will include the option to view one particular set of graphs
for all of the traces (as opposed of the current per-day display of all
graphs).
Regards,
Joerg Micheel
